We’re seeing two big trends- Oval Diamonds on classic accenting Settings, anything hidden halo, and pretty much any shape on a pavé band. And Lab-Grown Diamonds continue their takeover. The most popular trend: Oval Rings

The most popular Engagement Ring trends of 2024 start with classic accented diamond Settings and large Oval center Diamonds (mostly Lab-Grown). By classic accented, I mean a white gold or platinum band with small diamonds going halfway (or more) around. Ovals are having another ~moment~ most likely for the following reasons:

• First, their elongated shape makes them look larger than a circular or square shape of the same carat weight.
• Second, an “Excellent” Cut Oval Diamond returns a generous amount of light, arguably the most of any fancy elongated-shape (Marquise, Radiant, Pear, Emerald-cut, and Oval).
• The third reason Oval Engagement Rings are popular, IMO, is their versatility. You can set them on a Solitaire, accented Setting or custom Setting and an Oval will look beautiful in every one.

Another big trend: Hidden Halo Rings

The second big popular Engagement Ring trend of 2024 is the hidden halo. These started popping up on all kinds of rings, so much so that we’ve added several popular designs with them to our in-house line. Hidden halos add a gorgeous pop of sparkle to any Setting. They look best with brilliant-cut shapes (shapes other than Emerald-cuts and Asschers), and pair nicely with accented bands, Solitaires, and fully-pavéd Settings.

Our third favorite trend: Pavé Rings

A third huge Engagement Ring trend- pavé bands. Out with the simple bands, in the with the all-out diamond studded Settings. These add sparkle to any center Diamond, the perfect partner in shine. See some examples on our Instagram here, here and here.

And the largest overall trend: Lab Diamonds

And regardless of the ring style, the largest trend is the dominance of Lab-Grown Diamonds. They’re 10-25% the cost of an equivalent quality Natural Diamond, physically, chemically and optically the same, they pass diamond testers and are graded by the most reputable labs in the world. On top of that, because they’ve become so popular, there’s no “stigma” about going with a Lab Diamond over a Natural. It’s seen as the smart thing to do, to not pay 10X for the same product.
